Project Sum­ma­ry

Con­struc­tion and com­mis­sion­ing of a nom­i­nal 7 megawatt (MW) hydro­elec­tric pow­er­house at the base of Fri­ant Dam at Miller­ton Lake, north of Fres­no, Cal­i­for­nia. The facil­i­ty includes a ver­ti­cal Fran­cis tur­bine (with a design flow of 375 cubic feet/​second), syn­chro­nous gen­er­a­tor, and syn­chro­nous bypass valve. Project fea­tures include: the pen­stock and shut­off valve vault; draft tube and bypass valve dis­charge con­duit; pow­er­house struc­ture and equip­ment; trans­mis­sion and sub­sta­tion facil­i­ties; ground grid, duct bank; elec­tri­cal, com­mu­ni­ca­tion, and con­trol equip­ment; HVAC equip­ment and duct­work; air com­pres­sor, sump pump, and mis­cel­la­neous pip­ing sys­tems; and mis­cel­la­neous met­als and mechan­i­cal work. The work includ­ed dewa­ter­ing; exca­va­tion in the exist­ing dam; foun­da­tion prepa­ra­tion; cemen­ti­tious grout­ing; fin­ish seal­ing, paint­ing, and water­proof­ing; fin­ish site work; and start­up and commissioning.
