Syblon Reid Construction
Providing Solutions to difficult Projects

Metro Air Park Water Tank and Booster Pump Station

In 2009, Syblon was awarded a project from Metro Air Park LLC to install a tank and booster pump station in a developing business park in northern Sacramento. This project was a developer financed project for Sacramento County Water Agency.

The site, approximately 2 acres, was first cleared so Syblon Reid could begin with the necessary site improvements and related underground work. The project consisted of constructing a 2.5 million gallon welded steel storage tank on top of a reinforced concrete footing. A booster pump station, comprised of four 125hp pumps and two 10hp pumps, was constructed including all associated mechanical piping and tie-ins. Four large precast concrete vaults were also installed to facilitate flow monitoring, flow control and chemical injection.

Syblon Reid constructed a 3,500 sf masonry block control building that sat atop a reinforced concrete slab. The building housed electrical control panels, a SCADA system including an antenna for transmission, a back up generator, chemical storage and injection. Site improvements included over 43,ooo SF of asphalt paving as well as a decorative concrete block wall around the perimeter of the job site.

In addition to construction of the facility, Syblon Reid also pressure tested and disinfected over nine miles of previously installed water main to provide a potable distribution system.

Syblon Reid performed over 16,000 man-hours without a single loss time accident or OSHA recordable incident.
