El Dorado Irrigation District Landslides
As a result of severe weather, 5 landslides occurred on El Dorado Irrigation District's Hydro-Electric project. An emergency contract, approved by FEMA and FERC, was implemented to repair landslides providing stable access to the Atkins Powerhouse and removing the threat to the water conveyance system.
Construction methods implemented were: specialized excavation, rock anchors, drainage ditches, wire mesh fabric, erosion control fabric, seeding, crib wall, soldier piles and lagging, and geo-grid.
These extensive repairs were completed at remote locations without negative environmental impacts.
